Convocation 11 July 2007

The SDE convocation was held on 11 July 2007. It was a special day for me.

I wasn't the brightest student in the cohort, neither am I the most hardworking undergrad professors would deem. Seeing the valedictorian giving his speech (even though it's not that steady pom pee pee) but somehow the thought that "I should have studied harder.." came to my mind. I guess that's what many of us would think but nevertheless, I am still proud that I have graduated.

These 4 years of university life are full of the most dramatic ups and downs of my entire life. And, it changed me.

I felt excitement when I first entered university, not knowing what it has in store for me.

I was blessed with many good friends - really really good friends -throughout the 4 years knowing that they are always there for me.

I made the wisest decision to join CBLC - of which all of us were like a big family in that small little club.

I went through tremendous pain when I put on my braces - lost 7 kg and never got it back.

Started coming into contact with the real world.

Encountered lots and lots of frustration over projects and projects and projects.

Became super duper vocal after presentations and presentations and presentations.

Experienced the greatest amount of stress during the last year for my thesis - I guess it was much worse for Prof Liow. My gratefulness goes to him.

Was hit by the greatest blow and collapsed for a period of time. But I stood up again and moulded myself - nothing brings me down now.

Greatest sense of satisfaction comes from my thesis and marketing role.

Slept over the most number of times at a place other than my own home - YIH CBLC.

Received my first and only A+ - I'm easily contented.

Embarked on my first overseas internship to Shanghai.

Took up the challenge to go on my first ever YEP trip to Laos and bonded with the nicest people.

And finally, at the end of 4 years, hope found its way to me and made me realize that life's indeed wonderful.

Life is like a box of chocolates.. you never know what you're gonna get.

These 4 years are unique and special. Every event, every moment moulded me into who I am today. There may be things that I should not have done or things that I ought to do, but on the whole, it's been a wonderful 4 years.

Biao Ge

Today, I came across an entry http://lorlilorsor.blogspot.com/2007/07/jump-into-yellow-river-also-cannot-wash.html on Biao Ge's blog.

Still, after the plasters incident, couldn't stop laughing even when I read the above entry.

Btw, the "ling ling" he's referring to... is me.

Here, want to tell Biao Ge everyone loves him for his entertainment value.

Keep it up.

Happiness

Happiness is not found in a tranquil life free of storms and tempests.
Happiness is found in the struggles we undergo to realize our goals and our efforts to move forward.

Are You One Of Them?

I'm sure most of you know this..

****

There are a total of 66,660 millionaires in Singapore, accounting for 1.5 per cent of the population.

11,660 joined the "club" last year and factors attributing to this growth mainly comes from increased value of stock market shares and high returns from real estate.

Doing the math, it would mean approximately 3 out of every 200 people around us are millionaires.

So, are you one of them?

****

Hmm.. Ok, see you guys on the list few years down the road.

Or rather, the list where our Mr Ng, Mr Wee and Mr Kwek stands? Hee Hee.

Be inspired.

IT'S THE CHEESECAKE!!!

The filial Ah Boy brought his mama to this cafe near Little India. By the way, a cheesecake for few years of da-baos is not enough!! Haha.

Apparently they are famous for their cheesecakes. And.. OMG! They are REALLY that nice!

Oh well.. on account of the nice cheesecake.. free publicity for them!

The SettingTHAT'S THE BLACK CHERRY CHEESECAKE!!

Oh yes.. I'm definitely still craving for it..

My Shanghai Clique

I call us the Shanghai Clique because the 4 of us are the "tightest" as compared to the rest whom we hang out with when we were in Shanghai. So lucky to have met them there when I went Shanghai for a 3-month internship and I was glad I wasn't alone. The 4 of us went Beijing and Hangzhou together and you can imagine how much fun we had back then! Now that I recalled, one year has passed.. Time and tide wait for no man..

One year ago in Shanghai, when we met up for dinner every now and then, we were dressed in working clothes (internship only). But frenz, this time round, it's for real. Haha!

JUST FOR LAUGHS

Ladies and Gentlemen, presenting to you.. Just For Laughs!

Wanna know why?? Kindly take a look at the picture below..

Saw BG at CBLC today and I just couldn't stop laughing! Several reasons for this:

1. I'll leave it to your imagination why the 2 plasters are there.

2. BG used WHITE plasters instead of choosing those that's closer to his skin tone.

3. I mean... HOW CAN YOU NOT LAUGH??!!

But here, I like to clarify something.. BG explained that the 2 wounds were caused by satay sticks (Hmm.. I wonder who will buy that story.. Hee hee..)

But still... for friendship... I trust you! Haha!

Disclaimer: Contents presented on this entry are solely views of the author! And.. Intention (and effort!) to protect identity of person in picture was made. (Haha)

Not enough?? Here's more...

Embarking on a New Journey

The heading says it all and yes, I'm officially employed!

I'm looking forward to this new chapter in life and I will forge ahead with determination, embracing whatever comes along the way.

Yeah, sounds cliche, but seriously, my heartfelt words.

Looked through my organizer and realized a series of stuffs lined up for my next chapter. Here's a peek:

July
Convocation (11 July)
Winsurfing Course with Laos Team
Training for work starts
CBLC Chalet
SDE Dinner

August
Cruise

September
Driving lesson starts

Wanted to learn a lot more things, wanted to try a lot more new stuffs.. And I will, one by one, do them all within my means..
So, this chapter gonna be a lot busier, but I'm sure I'll enjoy every moment of it. =)

Go Go Go!!!

New Updates Again..

Saw the comment by Mr Isaac Zheng and realized that it has been some time since I update my blog. So.. without further ado, here's what happened in my life over the past month..

Back from Laos
Life was good in Laos. I would say it was a fantastic 3 weeks of retreat. We did things we have never done before, ate stuffs we had never eaten before and lots of fun especially during RnR. Strong bond within the team was created and not forgetting the creation of our "Kelvin's Lingo Phrasebook" (The team will know this well). Photos were uploaded in my photobucket album (See previous entry), and well, still uploading cos there were simply too many pics!
One of my favourite pictures -
Hon Cheng, you have what it takes to be a professional photographer!

Team's first gathering

MILK RUN 2007 - 1st July 2007
MILK is not interpreted literally as the drink you get from cows (that's what Mr Gerard Tay thought). It stands for "Mainly I Love Kids" and is a charity run to raise funds for under-previledged kids. The few of us from SDE participated in the community run. The run was only 4Km but the number of people was beyong 10,000. Hence, it took us quite some time to move to the starting point.

Performances by Styles from Beyond (Dance Floor)

The SDE Team - All geared up!!

Now you understand why it took us some time to move to the start point.

Mun's Treat - The Crab Meal!!
Talking about crabs - that's my no. 1 favourite seafood! Our dear Mun treated us to dinner and we opted for the famous crabs at Ang Mo Kio Ave 3. Thanks Mun! Hee Hee..
Mun and I

Ban and Jay

The Stars for the Day - Butter Crabs!!

SDE Gathering Part 1 @ Mun's House
A little late to update this now, but better late than never ya? Hee hee..
